Stunning BNIB Lalique Crystal Figurine Seahorse/Motif Hippocampe Lustre Bleu. Condition is Brand New in Box (please note: box is missing the lid--was missing when I purchased it). Discontinued, rare, and hard to find, this gorgeous Lalique sea horse stands approximately 4 inches tall and 1 1/2 inches wide.
FYI, Lalique is a highly sought after French crystal maker, founded in 1888 by renowned glassmaker and jeweler Rene Lalique. Lalique began as one of France's foremost Art Nouveau jewelery designers and then transitioned into one of the world's most renowned makers of artistic glass objects.
An article in the Chicago Tribune in 1985 stated that Lalique is very expensive because one mold for a horse's head, for example, can cost between ,000.00 to ,000.00 to make. And, it takes ten to fifteen years to fully train an artisan to the high Lalique standards! Who knows how much those molds must cost 36 years later!!!
This beautiful, rare, and discontinued bluish crystal piece can be yours. It has been lovingly treasured and stored in a smoke-free and pet free home.  Wanting to preserve its beauty and delicacy, it has never been displayed or removed from its box until I took pictures today.
