This auction is for a beautiful Lalique “Les Enfants” frosted crystal glass trinket powder dresser box jar with lid. The bottom of the box is etched with LALIQUE. FRANCE. This pattern was designed by René Lalique in 1931, although we do not know when this particular piece was executed. Given the contents of the rest of the estate from which this and our other currently listed Lalique pieces were derived, we would guess that the box is vintage or antique, though again we are unsure. The box base component is cleverly designed in the style of an elegant frieze filled with an encircling band of various cherubs who appear to be holding up the “dome” lid. The lid is decorated with circular tiers decorated with small flowers. The box measures roughly 4 1/4“ in diameter at its widest. It stands roughly 2 1/8” in height not including the lid and 3 1/8” in height with the lid. The box is fairly heavy weighing roughly 1 lb 10.7 oz. It appears to be in good shape but it does have scratches and a few small flea bite-type chips in a few areas throughout. The item looks to have been constructed in sections as it has 4 seams on both the bottom half and the lid. This beautiful Lalique “Les Enfants” frosted crystal glass trinket powder dresser box jar with lid is sure to be a nice addition to your collection. We do our best to properly describe an item, but please take a close look at the pictures to assess condition (mouse over to zoom, click to enlarge). This is one of several Lalique items we currently have listed.
