For your consideration an alluring R. LALIQUE
Quatre Moineaux du Japon Clock with Illuminating Base, circa 1928.
Made in France, this is a well document piece. The glass is frosted and beautifully decorated in relief with birds and foliage. It is further enhanced with a lovely ATO clock face covered by a hinged convex glass cover.
The brown rear panel gives the front of the clock an illusion of being tinted. It is mounted on a fitted illuminating
chrome base which also enhances the clock when lit. The clock face is marked ATO, the glass is properly signed “
R Lalique France”,
the rear inside works have maker marks and numbers as well.
It measures approx. 8½” tall (clock with stand) by 8½” wide (base) by 4¼” deep (base). The glass measures approx. 7¼” tall by 7¼” wide by 3 ¼” deep.
The clock is in great antique condition and appears to be all original. Unsure if the clock works - selling the piece as is - there is an aged battery-powered works in the inside back compartment which we have not tested.
The glass is free of any cracks or repairs with lite age & handling related wear - it could use a good cleaning.  There are a few lines and tiny bubbles in the glass, which all appear to be internal and in the making. There is a chip in the glass on one of the side panels at the bottom edge which is mostly concealed by the edging of the chrome base. The end of the minute hand is slightly curved downwards. The base is also in good condition with age related wear.

e do highly recommend as with all used electrical items that electrical components be inspected by a qualified person before use.
