The dirty secret in traditional EWOT masks is that they were never designed for exercising; they were designed for sleeping!  No wonder people often complain about how difficult it is to get a good work out with these masks, the valves were never sized for exercising!  Some manufacturers try to solve this design flaw by adding bands to the reservoir to force more oxygen thru, and this is not a great solution for a variety of  reasons and does not compensate for the poor mask design.  Others try to compensate by removing the intake valve and replacing it with an over sized filter.  But a filter is not a valve, and the end result is that you are likely to be re-breathing your own carbon dioxide and lowering the purity of oxygen you breath.  Why put a band-aide on a faulty design?
