    Description

    Up for auction is a large native basket with lid.  Basket weighs 2 lbs 9 oz. and is very stiff.  Unknown manufacture date but it is old.  The person I bought it from about 10 years ago said his family had a first nations museum in Canada and this was on display there.  He didn't have any provenance but said his parents traveled the world collecting baskets so I can't guarantee this is a first nations basket, only that the original owner thought it was.  If anyone has a good argument why it's not, please message me.
    Basket is approximately 9 3/4" high.  Lid is appx. 9 inches in diameter.  Handle is 13.5" high.  Bottom diameter is 14.25".  Width varies but it looks like the widest portion is approx. 16.5" in diameter.
