Description

LALIQUE CRYSTAL ARA COCKATOO -SIGNED - LARGE -  11 1/2" - FROSTED AND CLEAR.
This is a classic Lalique crystal sculpture of a cockatoo half-turned with bristling crest , showing highlighted realistic details. The body is frosted to the breast, which is clear.  The base is clear
It is 11.5 inches high, 10.5 inches across its spreading wings and 8 inches deep. It weighs 17 lbs, 2 oz.
It is signed "Lalique  France" in cursive script on the base under one of its wings, with an R in a circle above the gap between "Lalique" and "France" indicating it is not older than 1978.
Two of the feathers in its crest were broken and repaired when we got it, as shown in the picture of its head. Otherwise the cockatoo is in good to very good condition  with only the usual wear and light scratches on the underside of the base.
