    Description

This is an antique, African made, hand carved, Kuba wooden lidded box which was collected from the Congo. This wooden box was traditionally used for
storing  tukula--a reddish powder made from the bark of a tree. Tukula was used
to paint the hair, face and chest during
ceremonies and was a highly valued, expensive belonging. This tukula box specimen measures 11 inches long from one end to the other at the longest point by 6 inches wide. Great condition with slight wear. This antique traditional piece of African art would be a perfect addition to any African collection. I combine shipping on multiple buys so check out my ebay store.
