    New Handmade Fair Trade African Zulu Mbenge Basket
    approximately 10.75 in. dia. x 4.25 inches height
    In the ancient tradition of African weaving, come new, yet old, works of art and utility. This stunning piece is a mbenge basket, traditionally used to cover other containers, particularly pots or other baskets. Baskets are also used as gifts, decorative items, and for ceremonial purposes.
    The weaving fibers are from the Ilala palm, while the colors come from various indigenous roots, leaves, berries, and other materials, usually soaked and boiled for many days. A basket this fine takes weeks to produce. Most come with an informative card with the name of the artist. This is also a Fair Trade product, which means the creator received a fair wage for her amazing skills. This is a one-of-a-kind original! It is a true collector's piece, beautiful decor, educationally rich, and the perfect present!
    There are over a hundred amazing African hand woven baskets in a vast array of styles, sizes, colors, and designs created just for you;
