    Description

    These three boxes are
    not in mint condition
    !
I am selling all three of these boxes in one auction.
All three boxes are still factory sealed (wrapping coming apart in areas) but over these last 20+ yrs they have acquired some flaws, wear and tear, and the boxes themselves are not in mint condition like I typically sell in my auctions. Some sellers would sell them as new but I am not willing to do that. I have included pictures and as always...will try to educate those new to these boxes if you read on in my auction. All three boxes are still factory sealed but a couple inches of the wrapping has separated on two of them.
There are dents in all of them which are noticeable & they were likely caused by someone carelessly dropping one box on another sometime in the past. I am selling all three boxes in one auction in "as is condition" with no returns. All three boxes come from my original collection and are only being sold as used because they are not nearly in as good of condition as the other 18 boxes I have sold in the last month. None of them have ever been opened and it is apparent from the pictures I have included that the booster boxes inside them are still in mint condition. If I were a potential buyer in this auction, I would be planning on opening at least one of the boxes in pursuit of the Digimon holy grail gold prism cards. I could have simply tore the wrappers off these three boxes and sold them as opened boxes and not even mentioned the box and wrapper flaws...but some people still prefer buying boxes that are still factory sealed. For those investors that realize the value has nothing to do with how the boxes look...this is your chance to purchase 72 Digimon Series 1 booster packs ( 24 booster packs per box) at a huge discount. I currently have Pokemon 1st ed. base booster packs that are worth tens of thousands without the boxes they came in!
Knowledge about these cards can make you very wealthy!
I seem to be the only one on Ebay that is willing to explain why these cards will simply go up in value with time. In fact, I predict the information I am giving in my auctions will cause the price of these boxes to sky rocket very soon. Only several others here on Ebay are offering boxes similar to mine and I am guessing they don't even realize why these boxes are so valuable...they just know what the current going rate is when selling them. This is very fortunate for those of you reading this... as you are about to get a short course in why Digimon Series 1 cards are a great investment.
Make certain the box says gold !!!
On the side of the box it should list possible inserts below the 34 regular cards.
    Inserts:
    8 Ultimate Digimon cards (1:11)
    34 Digimon Silver (1:1)
    34 Digimon Gold (#'ed to 100)
Make certain it is a 1999 box!!!
Only the 1999 USA boxes contain gold foils...not the 2000! My boxes specifically say under inserts: 34 Gold (#'ed to 100) & it also says it further down under the description. If you don't see the word "gold" anywhere on the box...it doesn't give you the chance of acquiring a gold prism card that is numbered 1-100. I have a picture with magnifying glass showing you what the boxes should say!
1999 1st Ed. Exclusive Preview Digimon Series 1 Factory Sealed Hobby Box-24 Pks/7 cards in each. I bought these boxes 20+ years ago from a card trading company & never opened them. I simply stored them with my Star Wars and Pokemon cards and forgot about it.
Why is a Gold Prism more rare than the 1999 1st Edition Charizard?
Unike Pokemon, Digimon Series 1 has produced some extremely rare cards that are called
Gold Prism Exclusive Preview...or what I call Gold Prisms!
How rare you ask? They are so rare they are numbered 1-100!!!  Supposedly they printed one set (1-100) of Gold Prism Exclusive Preview cards for each of the 34 common cards and randomly placed them in booster packs that ended up in boxes like the one I am selling!!! PSA registers and keeps a total of all the different trading cards it grades. PSA has graded tens of thousands of 1999 1st Edition Pokemon Holograms (there are 16 holograms in the base set). The most famous and sought after is the 1st Edition Charizard Holo #4 card. So how many of those has PSA ever graded? That number is 3,248. How many of them were a perfect PSA 10? Only 122 are tens and that is why a Charizard PSA 10 1st Edition Holo #4 recently sold at auction for for over 400K! Let's compare Pokemon 1st Edition holo cards to Digimon Gold prisms from the Series 1 1999 boxes. This will help explain why Digimon Gold Prisms are far more rare than the 1st Edition Pokemon 1999 Holographic cards.
Note that Digimon Series 1 cards came out in 1999...same as the Pokemon. How many gold prisms have been graded so far by PSA in that last 20+ years? PSA has currently graded less than 40 gold prism cards! Whereas tens of thousands of Pokemon 1st Ed. 1999 hologram cards have been graded by PSA so far...there are only 3,400 gold prism cards (34X100=3,400) that were ever made!!!! Put another way...each of the 34 common characters in the Digimon Series 1 list has a maximum of 100 gold prisms and they are numbered from 1 to 100. We know without a doubt that at least 3,248 1st Edition Charizard Holo #4s have been made because that is how many have been graded by PSA. Obviously any card numbered 1-100 is more rare than a Charizard! Rarity doesn't always mean it is valuable so a little more education about value follows below.
How much is a Digimon Gold Prism (#'ed 1-100) worth?
There are only 32 cards that have ever been PSA graded and several of them are currently being offered on Ebay  They are currently asking 30-60K for them on Ebay! I have included a picture of a PSA 8 gold prism being sold by another seller here on Ebay which shows you what you want to find in your box...and could if you are very lucky!
Why the 1999 Digimon Series 1 boxes are a better investment than 1999 Pokemon 1st Ed Base Booster boxes!?
The Pokemon 1999 1st Edition booster box currently sells for several hundred thousand dollars and if it contains a Charizard that grades PSA 10 you will likely double your money. However, there is no guarantee it will contain the Charizard! You can currently buy a 1999 Digimon Series 1 Box for a couple hundred bucks (even at a couple thousand it is a bargain in my opinion) and if your box contains a gold prism you have hit the lottery because a gold prism is likely worth tens of thousands now and probably far more later. The risk with buying a box of either the Digimon or the Pokemon is that your treasured and valuable card isn't in the box! However, the risk to reward ratio makes purchasing Digimon Series 1 boxes the practical choice.
Why am I selling these boxes if they are such a great investment?
I have had a great run with regards to collecting as an investment. I made out like a bandit on Pokemon cards and my kids are grown and my grand kids have no interest in grandpa's collectables. I am an avid cryptocurrency guy that uses my Ebay earnings to purchase crypto. I recommend that all of you reading this put some of your money in crypto as well. However, if you are a bit younger than me I also think you should snap up as many Digimon Series 1 boxes as you can...before they all gone! In time, I think these boxes will make you far more than crypto without the stress! Like the argument I made with Pokemon...I think the risk reward ratio makes purchasing Digimon boxes a practical choice. The reason bitcoin keeps going up in value is because of supply and demand. The gold prism Digimon cards are far more rare than bitcoin and they are only found in boxes like those I and several others on Ebay are selling. If you peruse Ebay you will see several other sellers that have similar boxes ...but not many and they are priced higher. It is already much more difficult to purchase many of these boxes than it is to purchase bitcoin! There are maybe 7 or 8 boxes available right now on Ebay that you can purchase from other sellers living in the USA! Even though the prices are higher than the boxes go for in my auctions, at the prices they are selling them for...they could all easily be gone in a day. I am running out of boxes and I started out with a couple dozen of them that I purchased twenty years ago! I am selling mine for less than the other sellers because I am willing to sell them for far less than market value in order to purchase crypto. When my boxes are gone you won't get them so cheap...so good luck and happy bidding!
Shipping: USPS Priority Mail & I insure it!
These boxes were printed here in the USA and it is possible they contain a very rare Gold Prism Exclusive Preview card.
